Israel Trips

“I knew that this trip would have great impact on my life but until I put it into action in my classroom, I never knew the impact it could have on my students and their families”.                     –SAJES Israel Trip Participant

Attention All Jewish Educators and Youth Directors! Come to Israel in February, 2008 with SAJES! Click here to download the information.

SAJES is proud to have taken more than one hundred Jewish educators to Israel over the past six years. Participants deepen their Israel knowledge and awareness, build and maintain ongoing connections with Israelis and discover and strengthen a sense of pride and celebration of Israel’s accomplishments.

These trips empower participants - educators, clergy and congregational leaders – to understand and create more compelling and engaging Israel education and to bring Israel to the forefront of congregational agenda by:

• providing forums to grapple with and understand Israel’s present day issues.
• dialoging with Israelis from all segments of Israeli society.
• visiting sites in Israel that connect with a particular theme for each trip.
• participating in interactive, hands-on activities at each site to uncover the connection and the meaning of the site to the theme.
• participating in mifgashim (encounters) and activities along with Israeli
educators.

Each trip has its own theme and clear objectives, and is built on defined core concepts for professional and personal growth with pre-trip and post-trip meetings as integral parts of the experience.  Call SAJES for information about the 2008 Educators’ Trip to Israel.

SAJES is grateful to UJA-Federation for its generous funding subsidies that have enabled us to provide these Israel experiences.
