J Learn is a project of SAJES. UJA-Federation of New York cares for those in need, rescues those in harm's way and renews and strengthens the Jewish people in New York, in Israel, and around the world. ‘On The Same Page: Building Jewish Community – One Book At A Time’
Long Island’s first Jewish community-wide read finished a successful second season. Hundreds of adults in communities throughout the region read the same book at the same time (Joy Comes In The Morning by Jonathan Rosen) and participated in a variety of creative and educational programs in a variety of settings and formats. ‘On The Same Page’ is offered in cooperation with J-Learn and the BJE of Greater New York, Nassau/Queens Center. For complete registration and a calendar of events go to www.otsp.org. Shariee Calderone is the program coordinator. Click here for group participation information.

"I thought the event was fabulous! The questions were very insightful and the answers even more so. What a treat to hear an author be so open! I find it so interesting that this book is such an easy read and yet there is so much to think about in its contents. It felt like a delicious treat!" - Dorothy Tydings, Program Participant
The Morasha Teacher Preparation Institute is SAJES premier adult learning and teacher preparation program. You, the adult learner, are invited to take one or more courses in any subject area that interests you: Hebrew, Torah, liturgy, history and more. While the main objective for students enrolling in Morasha is to teach in area congregational school settings, a number of adults come to Morasha to become part of this wonderful learning community. Suri Jacknis is the Morasha Director. New classes begin in September; both day and evening classes are offered.
