SAJES has long recognized that principals hold the key to dynamic Jewish schools and help cultivate a love of Jewish learning and commitment to Jewish life. We also understand that principals use a wide lens to see the challenges facing their schools as they seek to balance instructional leadership and managerial responsibilities. Principals are in the unique position of interacting not only with students, parents and teachers but also with boards of education, boards of directors, rabbis and cantors.

We encourage you to bring SAJES to your school for ongoing professional learning for your faculty.

SAJES is offering your school a seminar of three collaborative professional learning workshops for you and your faculty. Suri Jacknis and Lauren Chizner will work with you and a lead teacher at your site to design a professional learning workshop series that will enhance the classroom skills of your teachers. Contact Lauren Chizner or Suri Jacknis for more information.

We also offer site-based, individualized consultations designed for you and your staff on issues such as bringing family education into your programs.

We encourage principals to consider participation in The Leadership Institute for Congregational School Principals (www.leader-institute.org), offering the opportunity for principals to further their leadership capacity, pedagogic skills and Judaic knowledge and build a new vision for school leadership. This two-year program is open to candidates from all denominations in the New York, Long Island, Westchester and the greater metropolitan area and extending to New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
